DIY Body Scrub & More: What are the best skincare hacks?

There’s no question that there are a lot of great skincare products on the market. But some of the best solutions are the ones that you make yourself. Like a DIY body scrub. With that in mind, we spoke with the skincare and beauty researchers at Callysee Cosmetics to find out the top 8 skincare “hacks” that you can whip up on your own for your own beauty routine.
#1 Put Coffee in Your Body Scrub
Yes, you heard that right. There’s nothing like a DIY body scrub with natural coffee grounds. They are just about the perfect texture for exfoliating, buffing away dead skin cells and leaving your skin looking renewed and refreshed. Plus, the abundant antioxidants and caffeine in coffee have wrinkle- and blemish-fighting properties, as well.
#2 Sleep Face-Friendly
Some of the best things you can do for your face are the simplest, and one of those is training yourself to sleep on your back rather than your stomach. This removes all the creases that can develop overnight, not to mention the oils that can invade your face from your pillow.
#3 Massage Your Own Face
Though skincare ingredients are important in your overall beauty routine, simply giving your face a gentle massage from time to time can relax and stretch the skin, relieving the tension that ultimately leads to fine lines and wrinkles. Focus around the eyes is a good idea to relieve tension in a common problem area.
#4 Banish Pimples with Tea
You’re not supposed to pop pimples, but it’s often a difficult habit to resist. If you do so, soak a tea bag in hot water and press it to the area to relieve skin irritation and bring the area back under control.
#5 Try Toothpaste
For bug bites, acne or other blemishes, you can actually swipe a dab of toothpaste on it overnight for relief. When you wash it off in the morning, it will often look much better than it did the night before.
#6 Rub the Face with Lemon
Face scrubs don’t have to be an elaborate process. An easy DIY body scrub can do a lot for you. Try cutting a lemon in half, dipping the exposed end in sugar, and exfoliating the face with that before rinsing clean. It can be surprisingly effective.
#7 Soak in Salt
Another simple scrub for the body is a tablespoon of sea salt mixed with water. Spray it onto a wash cloth and exfoliate the body with the coarse salt and water solution.
#8 Yogurt for Sunburn
If you’re dealing with burnt skin from the sun, plain old yogurt for 10 minutes can provide surprising, powerful relief.
